I have heard for the first In the shadows, and it might was similar to the poppier stuff of Him or stgh. I liked them, but nowadays this poppy-love-metal(?) stuff, and copying Him and other finnish goth/dark bands is TOTALLY BORING!!!!!!! (anyway I really like the older records of Mr. Ville Valo and co.)

Darkness is a GREAT BAND! But nothing to compare with Europe. It's whole another thing! But I LIKE IT! Darkness is something in the style of Thin Lizzy (mainly their song Love Is Only a feeling- wich is my favourite!!!), early Aerosmith, Queen, Sweet, T-rex, or sg mixture of late 70's and early 80's music. BUT THEY ARE ONE OF THE GREATEST FUCKIN' ROCK AND ROLL BANDS NOWADAYS!

Anyway Europe can be compared with these bands:

Narnia
-the song "No More Shadows of the past" (from their first album Awakening ) could be from Wings Of Tomorrow..-

Stratovarius
-I think Hunting High And low and Eagleheart tells everything...-

Supreme Majesty (THE GREATEST SWEDISH BAND SINCE EUROPE!!!)
-Just listen "DANGER"! THE SONG OF THE YEAR FORE ME! YEAH!!!!
