EUROPE band- acted in a movie?

I read that the band members of EUROPE appeared in a movie role and composed the songs for it too.

Which movie was this? Do they have a big role?

Yes, back in the good times of the 80's Europe played in the movie 'On The Loose'. They have pretty big roles as the movie actually is focused on them as themselves. The song 'On The Loose' is from this movie, and as far as I remember they play 'Rock The Night' and 'The Final Countdown' in this movie too when they do a concert...

I don't remember all of it as it has been some time since I last saw it

It's something about a girl and her boyfriend. The girl has a crush on Joey and the boyfriend gets jealous. I think it's something about the girl and Joey knowing eachother from earlier... something like that...

Anyhoo, yes, they made a movie...

why dont they release the film on DVD/video?

The movie was made back then as sort of a 'youth'- movie. I don't think it was ever officially released, but only used as a TV-movie in Sweden.

I don't think it will ever be released either, but ofcourse, you never know. I'm afraid only die-hard Europefans would be interested in purchasing it

The movie "on the loose" was made for and shown in schools 7-9th grade to give kids the knowledge of how important it is to be a member of the union when you start working after school. Regarding insurance if you get hurt, which happens in the film, and also that practice makes perfect, knowing you can't start at the top without learning. Europe was used in the film as themselves as they where quite popular at that moment. Rock the night was performed live.

The film is actually in Swedish and I think that it should be re-released with subtitles and footnotes in English some day.
